The first consortium meeting of the BMBF joint project took place on the 1st of February 2016 at the Festo AG & Co. KG in Ostfildern at Stuttgart. Following a Workshop discussing project contents, all participants took part in an in-depth tour through the energy optimized plant guided by the host, gaining an informative insight of the production on site.
The joint project BigDieMo started on the 1st of October 2015 in the program “Innovations for production, service and work of tomorrow” by the BMBF. It develops tools in order to construct Big Data based services for German middle classed companies together with the pilot partners Festo, Areva, Bosch, mytaxi, GreenGate, Cyberforum, Industrie- und Handelskammern as well as others. Concerning this the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and its department business informatics led by Prof. Dr. Kathrin Möslein, the University of Hamburg and its department IT-Management and Consulting led by Prof. Dr. Tilo Böhmann as well as the research project managing University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and its department Karlsruhe Service Research Institute led by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Satzger, work together closely.
The main objective of the “BigDieMo” project is to support enterprises to expand their existing portfolio by data based business models in a guided and target-oriented way. Thus making use of the often unexploited potential of data for service innovations. As part of the pilot projects the toolbox will be tested by the participating partners and case studies will be acquired, which will be provided for interested companies.
